![]() Oh, and as the title said, the game is metal as hell, here's music that plays when you're selecting a mission: ![]() It's actually a sequel to a more traditional RTS from 2001, Kingdom Under Fire: A War of Heroes, but I've never played that so really, you don't need to know the details from it, Crusaders explains itself well enough. It's story is actually somewhat interesting, since there are 4 campaigns each told from a different side of the war with a completely unique playable commander, but none of the campaigns actually provide a full view of what's going on individually. There is a lot going on here for an OG Xbox game. All in all it's really quite an ambitious game for the console. There are broadly 2 factions you play: the good fantasy people (humans, dwarves, elves) and bad fantasy people (orcs, vampires, dark elves, big scorpions, those huge things from The Mist) and no shared units between them, so there's a ton of variety in the content. ![]() On top of all that there's also a whole layer of RPG systems and unit upgrades. ![]() It's an RTS first and foremost, but some manual hacking and slashing can certainly help. It's basically what you'd get if a Total War game let you choose to take control of your general to bust some heads. For those not in the know, Kingdom Under Fire Crusaders was an Original Xbox exclusive hybrid of hack and slash and real time strategy gameplay. ![]()
